Dr. Andrew Melville-Smith.
Dr. Melville-Smith has been living and working in Whyalla since 1998. He is the principal veterinarian at the clinic.
Under his stewardship the veterinary clinic has a strong environmental focus on sustainability, runs a rehoming program for rescued dogs and cats and has a a has expanded to offer a 7 day a week service.
He is married, has three children, three dogs and one cat. (All rescues)
Dr. Tuuli Viitamaa originates from Finland
Tuuli joined our practise in Whyalla in January 2016. Prior to this she has been working in Mildura and Finland.
She shares her home with two ridgebacks and two cats.
When off duty, she enjoys showing her ridgebacks.
Pooja originates from Kenya and obtained her Veterinary Degree from Sydney University in 2013.
Since graduation, she has worked in Mildura, Victoria and joined the team at Whyalla Vet Clinic in May 2016.
She lives with a little wiry dog named Hamish and enjoys travelling and anything to do with wildlife.
Dr. Hoy Lin is originally from Taiwan, where she obtained her first veterinary degree at National Chung-Hsing University in Taiwan. She then obtained a vet degree at the University of Melbourne.
After graduating, she went to China to work for animal rescue for 6 months, before she moved to Whyalla for what she describes as "the amazing opportunity to work with the brilliant and supportive Whyalla vet clinic team".
All her life she has been passionate about animals and their welfare, and becoming a veterinarian was her dream. She says she has a thirst for knowledge and is always working towards broadening and strengthening her veterinary skills in topics of interest to her, especifically internal medicine and surgery
Hoy loves being outdoors, fishing or running, spending time at the beach, travelling, reading, and spending 'quality time' with my wonderful family and friends.
