TYPE OF PRACTICE: Small Animal Practice. Occasional horse.

DESCRIPTION: We have positions available each year for TAFE veterinary nursing students to come and gain veterinary nursing experience at our practices. Students will work 1:1 under supervision of a qualified veterinary snurse There will ample opportunity to further their surgical nursing experience, especially with the number of rescues that are neutered as part of our rehousing scheme.
The clinic in Whyalla has just been extensively renovated and the clinic in Roxby Downs is brand new. The practice is fully computerized, in-house idexx pathology and all the modern equipment you would expect in a progressive multi-clinic practice.
We have excellent, mature lay staff who can be relied upon and will provide an excellent resource for a veterinary nursing student working at our practice .
The clinic has three outstation practices which add an interesting dimension to the work The position is based in Whyalla , a city of 20,000 that offers an excellent lifestyle with excellent fishing, boating, swimming and all other amenities of a medium sized coastal city.
WORK PERIOD: 2 to 8 weeks.
AFTER HOURS WORK: Yes. Expect to be called in to assist with emergencies.

You will need a letter from your supervising lecturer stating that you have permission to do this as part of your sveterinary nursing clinical experience to complete your final year at TAFE. We will provide a report to your supervising lecturer.
