Golden Bell Frog with a tumour.

What do you do when your favourite frog gets cancer?

The same as you would with a person, take it to the doctor. This little golden bell frog was rescued 6 years ago from a road in Whyalla, and although she is a native of Australia, she is not found in South Australia, so she probably hitch hiked her way over here in a truck or container. These frogs came to the attention of conservationists when their habitat was threatened during the building of the Sydney Olympic stadium in 2000.

The frog was operated on by Dr. Yuri Masui to remove the tumour and made a good recovery post operatively.

Two weeks post operatively and the Golden Bell frog looks normal.
