Final Year Veterinary Students Chloe Baek and Elaine Tan have just finished their clinical work experience at the Whyalla Veterinary Clinic. Hands on experience is an essential component of their final year as they prepare to graduate at the end of this year.
At our clinic they get exposed to a wide range clinical cases and even a number of specialty cases with the visiting surgeon coming monthly. We have an excellent clientele that are happy to allow a student to get hands on experience under veterinary supervision.
“Vet Clinic is by far the best site” Elaine said when talking about her placement at our clinic “I was able to actively participate in diagnostic procedures, decisions about case management, treatment options and record keeping. “
“Whyalla clinic is a great environment for students to learn” Chloe said “The staff was very kind, patient and encouraging to allow me to develop my skills and confidences.”
Their advice to other final year veterinary students was “Don’t let the distance from Adelaide city deter you. The travel is worth it.”
