Looloo was abandoned in the Whyalla pound and was rescued before destruction. She was placed in care, and it was obvious very early on that she had some special qualities to her personality and temperament. After doing some testing the head trainer of the Lions Hearing Dogs for training and service in Adelaide and initial test results indicated that Looloo was a prime candidate to go through the training programme. Each dog is in training for a period of 12 months, and it costs about $30,000 per dog by the time they are ready to be placed with a hearing impaired or deaf owner.
She very quickly showed signs of doing amazingly well with her training, and the trainers all loved her. She featured in the 2016 calendar, and also on fridge magnets which were made for fundraising purposes. She was also renamed to Luna while with Lions. She is now in her forever home and doing really well.
